OVERVIEW

Here at GVE London we are excited to present our Concours winning Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda. Featuring an original Becker radio and factory fitted air condition, our example of this rare and appreciating classic roadster is an opportunity not to be missed.

The 'Pagoda' generations of Mercedes-Benz SLs are a fantastic introduction for anyone looking to get into the world of 1960s roadsters for those with a fair budget. The Pagoda had been aptly named due to the kicked up edges on the roofline of the optional hardtop resembling those Chinese structures of the same name.

The final version of the 1960s Pagoda, 280 SL models, are renowned as the best of its three variants. Having an uprated straight six, bored out to 2.8 Litres and a more refined suspension with a focus on comfort. This 1969 example is equipped with a perfectly tame 4-speed automatic gearbox that likes to take its time. This is a motor more concerned with arriving in dropdead style and comfort rather than a hurry.
