Ferrari FF set for 2016 facelift

Four-seat Ferrari FF set to get power upgrade, chassis tweaks and new eight-speed gearbox.

A facelifted Ferrari FF four-seat supercar has been spied testing in the Arctic Circle. The car is undergoing cold-weather testing ahead of its 2016 release, and is rumoured to be in line for increased power and efficiency, subtle chassis tweaks and a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Blink and you’ll miss the subtle changes to this prototype – the only exterior revision visible is a slightly enlarged grille and air intake, predicted to be a purposeful update to allow more airflow into the 6.3-litre V12, increasing power from the current 651bhp.

But as it’s early days for this test mule, we can expect some new-look bumpers and lights among the changes to the bodywork on the production car. And while the interior has not been seen yet, it’s likely to get the same updated dash, materials and infotainment system as in last year’s California T convertible.

Mechanical upgrades to the Bentley Continental GT rival are also said to include a brand new, faster-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The four-wheel-drive system could be worked on to improve the driving experience, and we expect to see a marginal increase in fuel economy, too.
